An important part of setting realistic and attainable New Year’s Resolutions is making sure that we create a plan to help us follow through with our goals! Many of us are all too familiar with forgotten resolutions and goals of the years past. After we create our New Year’s Resolutions, we are full of momentum and excitement to achieve our goals and become the best version of ourselves in the new year. However, after the initial months of the new year, our schedules pick up and our to-do list grows, often times pushing our resolutions to the back burner to be forgotten.
When you make a clear plan to achieve your goals for the new year, you are setting yourself up for success! Having a plan can help hold you accountable and avoid losing sight of your goals. We encourage you to write down your resolutions and post them somewhere you can see them every day as a reminder to be intentional about working toward these goals. It can also be helpful to plan different checkpoints throughout the year, where you reflect on your progress and determine if adjustments need to be made to achieve your goals.
While planning is important, we also encourage you to be flexible with your goals and remain open to making adjustments when necessary. Bumps in the road are inevitable, so it’s important for us to be ready to adapt our goals to overcome any obstacles that we may find along the way!
